Condensation tin cure molding silicone rubber, Tin-based silicone, also called condensation-cure silicone, are two-component materials which cure at room temperature (RTV) to flexible, high tear-strength rubbers. Tin cured silicone can be poured onto models or they can be made brush-able by adding a Thixotropic additive. They are ideal for molds where easy release or high temperature resistance is required.

Applications

Condensation Cure Mold Making RTV2 Silicone Rubbers can be poured or brush onto products for casting polyurethane, epoxy, polyester resin, gypsum/plaster, cement, waxes, low melt alloys/metals, etc.

Features

• Middle Shore A hardness (approx. 25)

• Excellent tear strength

Little rate of deformation and shrinkage

 Very high elongation and flexibility

• High temperature resist, high tear resist

Antioxidant Agent

If mix 0.5%-1% ratio of RTV2 silicone Antioxidant agent into silicone rubber, it can great increase using times about 30%-100%, and casting resins resist, particularly polyesters.

Thixotropic agent

Thickening agent for silicone rubber for vertical surface application(making brush-on molds)

Preparing the Model

Porous surfaces, such as wood, should be dried and sealed. Also applying a release agent, such as petroleum jelly will aid in easy release of a silicone mold. Because silicone can sometimes bond to surfaces which contain silica, such as glass, cements and natural stone; it is recommended to do a spot test for possible adhesion.

Mixing instrustions

This material can readily accept pigments.Stirring individual components before use is recommended. Make sure to weigh and measure accurately. Close containers tightly after use. Products should be stored in their original, sealed containers in an environment that does not exceed 90. Under these conditions, the product will achieve the expected shelf life.

The following procedure is an example of a 100:3 mix ratio addition cure product. Please refer to the product’s technical sheet for mix ratio information:

Mixing: Charge 100kg by weight of “Part A” and 3kg by weight of “Part B” into a clean, compatible metal or plastic container. The volume of the container should be 3-4 times the volume of the material to be mixed. This allows for expansion of the siloxane material as it de-gasses.

Mix thoroughly by hand or with mixing equipment while minimizing air entrapment until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. This will occur when the material takes on a uniform color with no visible striations. Scrape the sides and bottom of the container thoroughly several times while mixing. Once mixing is complete it is recommended that the material be de-aired 2-3 times by intermittent evacuation for a few minutes to minimize any imperfections due to bubbles in the cured material. Typically after releasing the vacuum 2-3 times the mass will collapse on itself at which time the vacuum should be left on only 2-4 minutes longer.

Storage

The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shown on the product label. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.

Packing information

Silicone Base is available in 1kg/5kg/20kg/25kg/200kg plastic/iron drum.Curing Agent is available in 0.25kg,1kg,5kg and 25kg plastic/iron drum.Vacuum bag can be used according to users demand.

Safety

Avoid contact with mucous membranes and eyes. Best method of cleanup is by wiping with disposable paper towels and washing with waterless hand cleaner, then soap and water. If solvents must be used, denatured ethyl alcohol is best, but should be handled with respect for health and flammability hazards.
